A satellite in Earth space draws strange images on the surface of the planet. Jet and Faye search for the hacker named "Radical Edward" who is presumed responsible for the satellite's behavior. Spike stays behind, he finds hackers boring to chase. Jet returns with a very bizarre description of their next target. On Earth, Edward makes first contact the satellite in a very strange way.

     Soon though, "Radical Edward" find the bounty hunters by hacking into the "Bebop's" computer, telling them that the real target is her new friend, the AI of the satellite itself. Ed strikes a deal with Faye: Ed will help them prove that the satellite is the one carving into the Earth if Faye makes a certain promise with Ed... Spike and Faye go to the satellite to download the AI, a task full of peril because they could not use their computers to navigate due to the satellite's sensors.
     Spike and Jet go to authorities to hand in the real culprit but get no award because bounty heads are required to have physical form... Oh yeah, the promise made to Ed was that Ed could become a member of "Bebop." Uh-oh...
