SCRATCH is a religious cult that believes that the soul should abandon the body to reside in cyber space. The leader of the cult, Doctor Londes, is wanted for murder when many of his followers commit suicide. Faye appears to have joined the cult, but she is secretly after Londes' 38 million bounty. The rest of the crew search for Londes but find no trace of him in the physical world or cyberspace. The only clue is the virtual reality video game console, "Brain Dream," that is said to be a way to join SCRATCH. Faye calls the "Bebop" and suddenly passes out.

EYECATCH

     Jet purchases a "Brain Dream" and tries it out while Spike goes after Londes following Faye's connection from where she passed out. He is immediately hypnotized but is saved by Ein's bite in the last minute. Ein tries the game console himself and miraculously hacks into the connection to find its location, a hospice.
     Spike heads into SCRATCH headquarters to find it in ruins. He finds Faye on the floor, unconscious and a tower of monitors which suddenly turn on. Londes appears on the screens.
     Jet and Ed head to the hospice and discover that the connection came from a comatose boy named Ronny Spanngen. Londes turns out to be a projection from the boy's mind. They disconnect Ronny from his computer and Faye wakes up to see Spike by her side.
