Faye and Ed land on Earth and leave the men alone in order to find out more about Faye's past... without Jet's permission... On a side trip, Ed visits Sister Clara, who is in charge of an orphanage where Ed once lived. She gives Ed a holographic projection of her father. Faye returns to a place she witnessed in the old beta cassette only to confront her past embodied in Sally Yung. She was one of Faye's former classmates and is now a grandmother. Faye hastily returns to the "Bebop."

     Faye's memory suddenly returns to her and she decides to leave the "Bebop" for good. The bounty hunters go to confront their newest bounty, only to find that it is Ed's father. Ed had imputed sneakily imputed phony bounty data into the "Bebop's" computer to find him. She decides to leave the "Bebop" as well and Ein follows her. The men are left alone again.
